I thought I was casual user... that I could quit whenever I wanted without any ill effects. Until this morning, that is, when I went to get my fix.

I turned on my computer and waited for the prettyful colors of the Windows logo to show up.
Nothing.

Turned it off, then on again.
Still nothing.

Narrowed down the problem to the monitor, did a self-check on it and started frantically checking cable connections.
Still nothing.

Finally called tech support - they sent me out to buy a new VGA cable.
With some hope in sight, I immediately rushed off to Best Buy and came home with my new cable, hooked it up, and anxiously awaited the results....
Again, NOTHING! My heart sank.

In a panic, I called tech support again and we finally came to the conclusion that I need a new video card. Quick fix with the DVI cable and I'm good to go for now.
Instant euphoria!!
